Encouraging the use of Irish among businesses in the Capital

BÁC le Gaeilge is a joint venture between the Dublin City Council & Conradh na Gaeilge, with funding from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. Our goal is to have Irish more seen and heard throughout the city. We encourage the use of Irish in businesses and communities.

We do this by meeting with local businesses to encourage them to use whatever level of Irish they have with the help of BAC le Gaeilge’s Business Support Package .

We also provide advice, offer suggestions and support materials to the community to assist Irish language networks functioning in the city. An example of some of these networks are; Ciorcail Comhrá, Pop-Up Gaeltacht, Tae & Plé etc.

BÁC le Gaeilge shares information on events that take place throughout the city and we also support the creation of Irish language networks / groups. We also involved in events throughout the year such as Lá Mór na Gaeilge, Lá Fhéile Pádraig, Borradh etc.

Businesses Working with us

“We partnered with BÁC le Gaeilge offering 10% discounts to orders in Irish. The results were phenomenal! We had people ordering ice-cream just to practice their Irish. I'd recommend any business give it a go”
Conor - Leamhain non-Dairy Ice cream
"Customers are coming to me to get haircuts through Irish for years. A website provides an opportunity to the public to seek out businesses like mine. We are all BÁC le Gaeilge! I recommend anyone to contact them to help develop the language."
Alan - Greene's Barbers
I use Irish everyday in my shop. It connects me with the area and helps me to stand out. It differentiates you from the large chains. I'd recommend other businesses talk to BÁC le Gaeilge!"
